Hot Dog Shoppe Restaurant Review Crestview, Fl
The Hot Dog Shoppe in Crestview, FL has recently opened in the Winn Dixie Strip Mall on the north side of town. I have actually been looking forward tho their opening for quite some time now. I love hot dogs!
Over all, we had a great meal at The Hot Dog Shoppe. I ordered the slaw dog and chili cheese fries, David had their burger, and our son Nate got a cheese dog. The hot dogs were a good quality, all-beef dog. The slaw on mine was excellent, crisp and creamy, a great contrast to the snap of the hot dog. My only complaints were the cold bun. A steamed or grilled bun would have made the slaw dog perfect! And unfortunately, I found some kind of foreign object in my food. It looked like a piece of plastic. I know that the place had just opened so it seemed like they were still finding their groove.
The chili cheese fries were the best I’d ever had. The chili was perfect, not greasy or overpowering, and the cheese sauce complimented it perfectly. Nate loved his cheese dog and french fries.
The biggest problem I saw with the Hot Dog Shoppe was the lack of seating. The place was only able to seat 10, and during our meal, a line of about 8 people stood around waiting for a place to eat. I, myself, became uncomfortable as strangers glared at us, waiting for us to finish and leave. I later heard the owners son explaining that because the restaurant only had one bathroom, so they can only have enough seats for 10 people. I hope that they will add another bathroom, so that they can have more seating for their customers.
Besides a few mishaps, our meal at the Hot Dog Shoppe was great. I definitely plan to return. I’m hoping things will be even better since they have been open for a few weeks now.

We also plan on doing a review of Big Bills Burgers in the next few weeks. Found out about it at the Main Street Yard Sale and it seems to be the new cheapest restaurant in Crestview, thus defeating Tropical Palm for this trophy. We will see.

I wish their was more seating at this restaurant. It drives me crazy when their is floor space empty and people just stading around. Bad design.

I stumbled across this review. First, I want to Thank you for the kind words, as I am the owner of “Hot Dog Shoppe, LLC”. I didn’t have any idea this was going on. I am happy to say that there will be more seats going in A.S.A.P.! There was a 10 seat max. for a restaurant with only one bathroom. The law has been changed. Also, we are measuring for our drive thru window. I agree with you on the fries! Any fresher and they would be in dirt. Drop by and let’s meet!!
