Sam’s Sunday Brunch
Ok this may just be a southern thing, but I find it amusing. One of my favorite places to get a bite to eat after church on Sunday’s is Sam’s Club. And no, I don’t mean from their snack bar.
On random Sundays, my husband and I will load up in our car after church and head to Sam’s club for a fun time of browsing and munching. We like to call it Sam’s Sunday brunch. Many of you know exactly what I’m talking about. Sundays are the days that Sams sets up mini-kitchens all around the the refrigerated section, doling out microscopic samples of everything from frozen pizza to chocolate covered popcorn.
David and I like to make the rounds 2 or 3 times. Trying not to be recognized by the vendors. Every now and then, we come across a product so delectible, that we just have to take some home with us. Our son thinks this ordeal is a blast. Walking around a store where they give out food! He loves it!
At first, we thought that we were the only crazy people who purposely went to Sams for a “free” meal. (It’s not really free since you have to pay to be a member to even get in!) But one day at church, I heard a friend talking about going to Sams for lunch. Being the foodie that I am, I inquired about this Sams, thinking it was a new restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised to find that my friend was taking her family to Sams Club after church to enjoy a lovely meal!
So if you ever find yourself with a little time to kill and an empty stomach, head over to your nearest Sams club and partake of the hors ‘d vours. (By the way, you don’t have to have a membership to get in. You can always get a visitors pass; you can’t buy anything, but then again, you don’t need to if you’re just there for the free food!) The ambiance isn’t all that great, but the food is good, and the price is perfect!

Too funny. My mom works in P’cola and they go over to Sam’s for lunch at the snack bar sometimes but this is definitely a new one for me.
