Tokyo…..Good food and a fun show
David and I just went to the new Tokyo Japanese Steakhouse & Hibachi restaurant here in Crestview, FL 32539. What a great way to spend an evening with friends!
It was actually our second trip to Tokyo. On our first visit, we ate at the hibachi bar. Our chef did an excellent job. He had all the typical hibachi tricks up his sleeve–the onion volcano, fire balls, and a tricked out squirt bottle. We were highly entertained by all of his antics, and the food was delicious. I had the shrimp and scallops. They were perfectly cooked. The only problem I could see with the hibachi is if you are looking for a quiet romantic outing. Since you sit at a large table shared with other patrons, I would recommend going when you are in a friendly kind of mood.
On our second visit, we decide to forgo the hibachi and indulge in the sushi instead. David and I were with our friends Christa and Chard. We decided to get 8 different sushi rolls and share them. I can’t remember everything we got, but a few stood out above the rest. We ordered one of the specials for the night, the super yummy roll. It definitely lived up to it’s name! It had several different kinds of fish wrapped in rice and nori and then deep fried–YUMMY! Another of my favorites was the White Russian. It was also deep fried with fish and asparagus. The only issue I had was that a few of the rolls tasted the same. We were also disappointed that we didn’t get to try the Salmon Avalanche which is Christa’s favorite. There was a mix up with our order and we didn’t get it.
Overall, we had a great time with great food on both of our visits to Tokyo. So we’ll definitely be going back, and next time we’ll try to get that pesky Salman Avalanche again!
David here - I have included a few pictures to help you understand the mood of the restaurant, the beautiful rolls & the crappy overflow seating. On a good note, no one seems to sit in the overflow because their seems to always be room available in the booths on the wall or the comfortable chairs at the sushi grill. My favorite rolls were the Super Yummy and the Bond Girl. Here is the address for reservations:

I love Tokyo. The Salmon Avalanche is to die for. This is one of the best sushi bars around. A great place to spend an evening with friends.

My family also loves Tokyo. My son (the picky eater) has found he loves sushi rolls. He loves the White Russian (previously known as Snow White)and the Crestview Roll. We’ve not tried the Salmon Avalanche but we’ll give it a try on our next trip.
